"3D printers have already migrated from factories to the home and are now set to journey into space" says Darren Quick of Gizmag. Sending tools and structures can cost millions of dollars and the metal printer is going to print all of it instead. The printer can print 3D metal up to 2 meters long, long enough to print satellites on.![]() |

I think this could have a big impact on the world. We could not only save a lot of money but we can print metal! We can send only this printer to the station and have it print the satellites instead of making the satellites down on earth and sending them to the station. Sending things to the Space Station costs millions of dollars.
This could affect me since all of the money that they don't spend sending up the sattelites can be put into use they can start to make more innovative things.
